Olivia leaves her perfect family for Dane Miller, a no-good drug addict who has nothing to offer to a woman. The book really puts you front and center in the investigation and it was scary to be in Emma’s position. Between the characters, the storyline and the reveals, this latest read from a talented author is a one that is completely recommended. The main character Emma is very likable and you feel all the emotions she’s experiencing with the loss of her husband and missing child.

In addition, the last book I read had a young character, and I could not have been annoyed more by that kid’s behavior.The story is well-paced and filled with mystery and suspense, keeping the reader engaged throughout the book. It was so hard for me to put this down and focus on something else, I had to know what was going to happen next. Just like any working day, Della welcomes the new student Zoey to her English class and treats her like any student.

Besides the fact that it’s a fantastic twisty thriller, my youngest is about to embark on her first school trip the week after next!

Fantastic… I found very hard to stop reading… brilliant storytelling all the way… I cannot speak highly enough about this book, definitely a must-read… A thoroughly 5+ stars from me. As the girl was found and the crowd start leaving the premises, Emma realizes someone else also goes missing--her daughter had gone missing. I was hooked because I was hoping and praying that Claire would be found safe and well, and I wanted to know who would do such an awful thing.Miranda Smith knows how to pull the heartstrings while creating a tense mystery that does not disappoint. There's not an overbearing amount of detail about them, but it's enough to want to see where the day takes them. The beginning was amazingly tense and terrifying (and also a bit sad - this does deal with child abduction).
