Then her mother, who is the live-in housekeeper at a stately home turned hotel in Dorset begs her to come and help out.

It all added to the beauty of this book though, making it a great all round package and again has left me wanting more. Set in 1964, OEE follows the adventures of 22-year-old Meg as she sets off to help her mother run a small hotel in Dorset. I am rather pleased that she gives you a glimpse of the professional kitchen too, as it is quite different from that of a country house hotel. The sparks fly thick and fast from the moment of their meeting, but Fforde contrives a delicious story that makes your heart burst at the seams with joy. I have read a few Katie Fforde novels so was excited to be given the opportunity to read her latest release. Then we have the wonderful eccentric permanent residence Ambrosine who has a past that could come in useful and Susan and all her relatives who seem to be working at the hotel in every role possible. This is the third book set in the 1960s loosely based around a group of young middle-class women who attended a cookery class in London.

Louise and Andrew were a lovely couple too, the mother daughter relationship was written really well, especially with the age difference not huge. Having already followed the stories of the other two in the previous books in this loose series, I was delighted to learn more about Meg. This book follows on from two previous books set in the 1960s and vividly brings to life the beauty of Nightingale Woods Hotel in Dorset.I thought some of the characters were lovely, such as the elderly and mysterious Ambrosine, and I even enjoyed the stereoptypes too, who I think were written a bit tongue-in-cheek.

I'd like to thank NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me to read this book before publication. The owners so Justin starts to ruffle Megs feathers and Meg digs her heals in further to keep the hotel going.A lot of the scenes are set around food, which makes perfect sense since the two main characters are chefs.
